Reading Carrier model codes
- KH = cooling only. QH = cooling + heating.
- CT = Optimax. EFT = X-Cool.
- DN at the end = inverter. Plain N = fixed speed (not inverter).
- 12 = 1.5 HP.
- The leading 38, 42 or 53 and the part after the dash (708F) differ between stores for the same unit, so we compare on the core of the code.
- A code that stops at 12 with no N or DN (e.g. KHEFT12) could be fixed or inverter, so it isn't in the table.
Common questions
- How much is a Carrier 1.5 HP AC today?
- The lowest price we found is EGP 22,540 (KHCT12N, Optimax Pro, cooling only, fixed speed) at Raneen, last seen 7 Nov 2026, 6:54 pm. Tap any model in the table for every store's price right now.
- What's the difference between KH and QH Carrier ACs?
- KH is cooling only, QH cools and heats. Compare the same line in the table (e.g. KHCT12N vs QHCT12N) to see what heating adds today.
- How do I know a Carrier AC is an inverter?
- Look at the end of the code: DN means inverter (e.g. KHEFT12DN8), plain N means fixed speed (e.g. KHEFT12N). Don't rely on the word “inverter” in a listing: we found stores labelling fixed-speed models as inverter, so Arkhas Feen sorts by the code.
- Optimax or X-Cool?
- For plain cooling they cost about the same; the difference is design and features more than price. Compare KHEFT12N and KHCT12N in the table.
- Is the inverter worth the extra money?
- An inverter saves electricity if the AC runs many hours a day in summer. Compare the cheapest inverter with the cheapest fixed-speed model in the table to see today's difference.
- When should I buy?
- We won't tell you to hurry. A crossed-out price is not proof of a discount; we compare the real price you pay across stores and against our own price history. Waiting for White Friday? See “Is the discount real?”.
